Amazing Computer Sales Statistics

Computer sales have had a rough go of it the last few years.  Here are some amazing computer sales statistics that outline just how bad it’s gotten.  Sales have hit their lowest point since 2007 as shown in our charts below.  The decline is the result of a triple whammy that is hitting computer manufacturers.  There has been an economic slowdown in China, a strong U.S. dollar that made computers more costly in Europe, and huge growth in smartphones and other mobile devices.

In addition to these factors, many applications moving to the cloud has made the performance of the desktop less important than the performance of the internet connection.  These factors have caused consumers to hang onto their computers longer, or simply get rid of them in favor of mobile devices.
